This is another post for my class project.
If you could cure ONE disease what would it be?
Many of us know friends and/or family with a disease or illness that is life threatening.
I would pick the flu.
Here are some facts about the disease I picked:
1. It is a virus
2.It is contagious
3.
Can cause mild to severe illnesses, and at times can lead to death.
4.
Symptoms: headache, soar throat, fever, chills, coughing
5.
Everyone older than 6 months should get a Flu vaccine(shot).
It is caused by viruses that infect the nose, throat and lungs.
Here are some ways to keep it from spreading.
- Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze.
- Wash your hands often and well.
- Keep yourself healthy with rest, exercise, and eating healthy foods.
- Drink plenty of fluids.
- Stay home if you get sick.
- Avoid close contact with sick people.
These are some things to do if you start to get flu symptoms

- Get plenty of rest.
- Drink plenty of liquids.
- Stay home from work or school to protect others from catching your illness.
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue every time you cough or sneeze.
- Take medication to lessen the symptoms of flu, but never give
aspirin to kids who have flu-like symptoms, especially
fever, without first checking with your doctor.
One time I think I had the flu for a couple of days or weeks. I wasn't feeling that good so I went to sleep. I went to sleep before dinner so I didn't eat anything. So I was sleeping then I didn't wake up till the next night. When I woke up I asked when is dinner going to be ready I didn't know I slept for 24 hours. So they told me and I thought I was only asleep for 1-2 hours but I felt a lot better. That is one story about the flu in my family.
